TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Two of the dogs rescued from an animal hoarding situation in southern Ohio last month are now available for adoption from the Toledo Area Humane Society.

The humane society welcomed 12 dogs into their shelter in April. The society announced Friday that two of the animals, Millie and Claire, are now up for adoption. Three more dogs from the home, Butch, Hank and Hazel, will soon be available for area families to take home.

Of the seven other dogs rescued from the hoarder, two are in foster homes and the other five live at the humane society.

The humane society prefers that whoever adopts these dogs already has a dog at home. Because of their backgrounds, they feel much more comfortable with other dogs, which helps make them feel more confident.

For information on how to adopt Millie or Claire, or any of the dogs at the humane society, call (419) 891-0705 or visit http://www.toledoareahumanesociety.org/.
