OTTAWA HILLS, OH (Toledo News Now) -
The village of Ottawa
Hills is preparing for a busy summer of construction projects.
Several projects will
begin in June, including reconstruction of Brantford, Pelham, and Grimsby
roads. The work is expected to take the entire summer to complete.
Another big project will mean
the closure of the Talmadge Road bridge. The repairs involve surface work and
painting underneath, and should take about 30 days to complete. A grant from
the state will help pay for the project, which will cost more than $250,000.
"We're not exactly sure of
the dates yet," said Village Manager Marc Thompson. "Probably in June, or
perhaps part of June and part of July…Again, a project that will result in some
inconvenience, but it's a necessary repair to make sure that the bridge has a
long life ahead of it."
After the Talmadge Road bridge
project is complete, the village will begin work on the Evergreen Road bridge. That
project is estimated to cost about $75,000.
