TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The Ohio Turnpike is back open Saturday evening after a crash shut it down for much of the day.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says that just before 10:30 on Saturday morning, a car driven by 22-year-old Jacob Schwartz of Succasuna, New Jersey was going eastbound near milepost 88.

They say Schwartz rear-ended a semi driven by 37-year-old Frank Payton of Atlanta, Georgia.

Schwartz' car then went off the left side of the road, hitting the median wall.

Schwartz was taken by Life Flight to Mercy Saint Vincent's Hospital.

Payton was not injured during the crash.

Troopers do not know the extent of Schwartz' injuries and the investigation is ongoing.
