TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -
Visitors to the Toledo Zoo will be treated to a brand new exhibit beginning Friday. The zoo's "Wild Walkabout" opens to the public on May 24.
The highlight of the exhibit is Baru, a 17 foot long crocodile. When he came to Toledo from Australia, Baru became the largest crocodile in North America.
Baru isn't the only Australian animal in the exhibit though. Visitors will have the chance to check out the wallabies, dingoes, cassowaries, a 360-gallon Great Barrier Reef exhibit and many more animals from down under.
The zoo is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with special events scheduled all weekend for the exhibit's grand opening.
