The Ohio State Marching Band was in northwest Ohio Monday to raise money for a scholarship fund.
The band played a show at Stone Oak Country Club in Holland. The event raised money for the Cheryl Jacobs Waters Scholarship Fund. The fund is named for the late mother of John Waters, current OSU Band Director and Elmore native. Jacobs Waters was a teacher and administrator with Toledo Public Schools.
"I'm so honored that they're doing a scholarship
in my mom's name. She was a typical band mom. And all these kids' band moms are
here for the students. They're supportive; they've been just wonderful to bring
up their sons and daughters and to give them this experience of playing in our
band," Waters said.
