WOOD COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious accident that occurred Monday around 6 p.m.

Dennis Miller, 66, of Millbury, was driving a Pontiac van westbound on SR 795, near I-280 in Lake Township.

Rickey Nontell, 50, of Toledo, was driving a Chevrolet Corsica eastbound on 795, and attempted to turn north onto the on-ramp to I-280. Nontell failed to yield the right-of-way to Millbury's vehicle while turning left.

Miller's vehicle struck Nontell's in the passenger-side door.

Miller and Nontell both received minor injuries and were transported to the hospital. William Bowie, 33, of Toledo, was riding in the front passenger seat of Nontell's vehicle. Bowie received serious injuries and was taken by emergency helicopter to the hospital.

Neither Nontell nor Bowie was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and alcohol is not believed to be a factor.

Nontell was cited for failure to yield while turning left.

The condition of the three men is unknown at this time. The accident remains under investigation.
