A mother who lost two children in a devastating house fire is speaking out in hopes that no other family will suffer the same loss.
Kecia Williams left her daughter and son at home while she ran to the store Monday morning.
In just a short amount of time, a fire broke out, trapping the children.
Williams was only gone for a few minutes, but that was long enough to change her life forever.
"I miss them," she said. "I wish they didn't have to leave me, but God knew what was best for them. I know in my heart they are taken care of."
The house was special. Her grandparents and parents had each lived at the home.
But nothing was as precious as what was inside: her 11-year-old son Alexander Nash and 12-year-old daughter Kemara Nash.
Williams is staying in a hotel for three days but has been offered a home.
Community Outreach Christian Ministries is working to establish a fund to help the family. Check back to WSMV.com for updates.
