TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The traveling Vietnam memorial wall came to Toledo Wednesday.

The wall is over 350 feet long, and is an 80 percent scale model of the original memorial wall in Washington, DC.

Over 1,000 veterans, family members, and members of the Air National Guard in Swanton lined the streets and escorted the wall to International Park on Wednesday.

"It's really quite emotional," said veteran Bill Smith. "It's a moving thing, to see the reaction from all the vets."

Crews will set the wall up at the park Thursday, starting at 8 a.m. They should be finished by noon, and the wall will be available to view 24 hours a day until Sunday at 3 p.m.

"This is a way to honor them," said veteran Jerry Blevins. "Not only them, but everyone that's gave their life to make this nation what it is…I miss them."
