Toledo man leads troopers on high speed chase

SYLVANIA TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A Toledo man lead Highway Patrol troopers on a high speed chase Friday night.

According to the State Highway Patrol, troopers tried to stop a black Honda Civic at King Road and Central Avenue, in Sylvania Township, around 7:40 p.m.

The driver, 33-year-old Duane Curtis Jr. of Toledo, fled at a high rate of sped before getting onto the expressway, authorities say.

Curtis allegedly continued to flee down IR475 to IR75 and onto IR280.

Troopers say he eventually pulled over on Woodville Road, where he then took off on foot.

Curtis was arrested shortly after at his residence and taken to the Lucas County Jail.

Curtis is charged with Driving with a Suspended License, Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle and Receiving Stolen Property.

The vehicle was reported stolen to the Toledo Police Department.
