A fire at a North Toledo home woke neighbors up early Tuesday morning.
Flames broke out at a home on the 300 block of Austin Street, near LaGrange Street, around 5 a.m.
Neighbors tell WTOL 11, they heard the sound of glass shattering, then saw smoke. According to the Battalion Chief on scene, the fire appears to be suspicious.
Family members watched outside of the home as firefighters worked to contain the blaze. They told WTOL 11, this is not the first fire to occur at the residence. A woman said her mother died in a fire at the same home in 2009. Since then, the victim's daughter has taken over the home. This information has not yet been confirmed.
Firefighters were able to put out the blaze. Investigators are surveying the inside of the home to determine how and where the fire started.
The amount of damage is still being estimated.
