A donation fund is set up at Mineola Community Bank in Grand Saline for Addison Dugan, the 9-year-old ETX girl who was killed in a Wood County wreck on Wednesday.
Addison Dugan died at around noon on Wednesday, when the SUV she was riding in was hit by a semi on Highway 69 and FM 779 in Wood County.
Addison's mother, Aime Dugan, was driving East on FM 779 when she drove into the intersection and into the truck's path.
Dugan and the truck driver, Donald Scott of Tennessee, were both taken to Tyler hospitals and were later released. Addison was pronounced dead at the scene.
"According to witnesses the truck tried to stop to avoid them but he couldn't and the front of the truck struck the right side of the suburban, the passenger side," said Trooper Tommy Barrett with the Texas Highway Patrol.
The Dugan family sent us this statement, "We are just too heartbroken to talk about Addison. We will always remember her smile, her laugh, and her love for everyone. We will miss her so much."
DPS says the crash is still under investigation and no one has been ticketed.
TxDot is in charge of replacing the traffic light that was knocked over in the crash.
