A burning cross, a Smith county man beaten and shot by a family member, and in critical condition. We are told this is much more than a family feud, and outraged family members are calling it a "hate crime."
The Wood County Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau conducted two separate vice operations which resulted in the arrest of nine individuals. All individuals were charged with solicitation-prostitution which is a class three misdemeanor.
The first vice operation happened on May 5 of this year at various truck stops in Wood County. The Wood County Sheriffs were assisted by Lake Township Police, Perrysburg Township Police, and Ottawa County Sheriffs Office.
The second operation occurred on June 12 at a motel in northern Wood County. The Sheriffs were assisted by Lake Township Police, Ottawa County Sheriffs Office, and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification.
All cases will be tried in Perrysburg Municipal Court with the exception of Roberts, who will be tried in Bowling Green Municipal Court.
