Police search for Olander Park arsonists

Posted: Updated:
SYLVANIA TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Police are working to find out who set a fire at Olander Park in Sylvania.

The blaze broke out Monday and destroyed a concession stand.

Surveillance video shows the vandals are wearing something over their face.

The park was vandalized on Memorial Day, as well. Police say they believe the two crimes may be linked.

"The state fire marshals brought in resources that we could not have brought in on our own," said Sylvania Township Fire Chief Jeff Kowalski. "One of those resources was a police/fire/arson dog, and that arson dog did identify several samples that were sent down to the crime lab."

Authorities want to stop these crimes before things get more serious. Anyone with information about the fire or vandalism should call the State Fire Marshal's Office at 1-800-589-2728.
