Ten people die from drowning everyday, according to the Centers for Disease Control. That's why its so important to pay attention to these safety tips from the American Red Cross. The first important things is to make sure you have some type of barrier around the pool. It should be at least 4 feet high, and should have a lock. Once inside the pool area, you want to make sure you have a floatation device and first aid kit. Also make sure you pay attention to signs around public pools. There should be no loose items or toys around the pool that children could slip and fall on. Finally never swim alone, take swim lessons, and always have constant supervision.
