(WMC-TV) - Neighbors on Orleans Street live in fear, not because of the boarded up houses or the high grass, but because of the violence surrounding a resident's home.
"Every day they fighting and arguing and fighting. They got knives. Like I say, police out here every day, every other day," said a neighbor who asked to remain anonymous.
Like all of the other neighbors, this neighbor was afraid and wanted to keep her identity secret.
But on Saturday, police arrested Nikki Edwards on disorderly conduct and domestic assault charges. She is the center of a love triangle that has resulted in 23 different incident reports.
The police have been called to the house 46 different times. Each time police responded because of in-fighting among the lover's triangle.
This time, the arresting officer wrote:
"This has created a public annoyance, hazard and physically offensive condition. These three individuals monopolize public resources depriving and delaying these resources from other citizens.
Police said they could not even pull all 23 incident reports in one day. Only three reports were available Monday.
The District Attorney's office said houses can be shut down as a public nuisance. But just like in every other case, MPD must turn over a case file first.
Edward's mother claimed to have no idea about the reports, and that her daughter is in jail. In the meantime, police and neighbors are fed up.
