To promote the new American Red Cross benefit CD, Hollywood Casino Toledo is hosting a free concert Thursday from 7-10 p.m. Talented local musicians who contributed to the project will perform.
The Red Cross benefit CD "Red, White, and You" features a variety of gifted home-grown musicians and is available for purchase at Hollywood Casino Toledo, as well as all Frisch's Big Boy, Ralphie's, and KeyBank locations in northwest Ohio. The cost of the CD is $10 and includes a $4 Frisch's Big Boy/Ralphie's coupon, making the final out-of-pocket cost just $6.
The CD includes 23 songs from a wide variety of bands and artists:
Toledo native and Disney sensation, Alyson Stoner, contributed her refreshing pop hit "Sweet" to the benefit album. Local legend Crystal Bowersox, of American Idol fame, generously donated "Holy Toledo" as the bonus track. The CD also opens with a heartwarming rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game," previously recorded by fans at a recent Toledo Mud Hens game.
"There's really something for everyone," said Amanda Aldrich, communications specialist for American Red Cross of Northwest Ohio, "It's the perfect CD to put in while cruising around town, barbecuing in the summer sun, or sitting by the pool. It's also kid-friendly too, so you don't have to worry about kids overhearing and singing along."
Proceeds from the CD benefit programs and services of American Red Cross of Northwest Ohio, including:
-Disaster preparedness and response
-Support for local military families during emergencies
-Lifesaving skills, such as first aid, CPR and AED
-Access to lifesaving blood services.
The $10 raised from the sale of one CD helps provide things like food, clothing, temporary shelter, and comfort kits for adults and children following a disaster.
