Driver busted for weed after calling cops for help

A Richmond Heights man busted for weed after calling the cops for help in Solon.

It happened June 1 around 7:45 a.m. at Nestle's on Bainbridge Road.

Cops were called by a driver who had locked his keys in the car.

The officer, after obtaining a signature of release on the vehicle unlock waiver, unlocked the car and immediately detected the odor of raw marijuana. The officer then noticed a plastic container on the passenger floorboard with individual plastic bags of what appeared to be marijuana.

Taken from the car were 37 individually wrapped bags of suspected marijuana totaling 28.7 grams, and a suspected marijuana cigarette.

King G. Lawson, 34, was arrested and charged .
