Nestle breaks ground on new product technology center
SOLON, OH (WOIO) -
Nestlé broke ground on new product technology center in Solon on Thursday.
Construction is expected to begin this summer and the new facility will be operational in 2014.
Nestlé is investing $53M to build a new 144,000 square foot building dedicated to frozen and chilled foods research that will serve Nestlé's business units worldwide.
The facility will house offices and labs for approximately 100 scientific, professional and technical staff.
The new facility will join other Nestlé operations in Solon, including Nestlé prepared foods company, an important employer in the city since it was first established there in 1968. The business employs more than 1,900 in its offices and production facility.
