ADRIAN, MI (Toledo News Now) -
ACT scores are on the rise for the second year in a row in Adrian.
students scored an average of 20.1 – up more than two points from the last few
years, and higher than the state average.
officials say these rising test scores are not just by luck, but a direct
result of hard work done by both teachers and students. Superintendent Chris
Timmis says they've adjusted their curriculum, both in what students learn and
when they learn it.
also says they've put new technology in the classrooms, increased rigor through
an international baccalaureate program, and they're working with students to
help them understand the importance of the test and why they should take it
were one of the top ten schools for growth in Michigan last year, and we went
up again," Timmis said. "So to be able to look at and make that kind of growth,
and sustain the growth, it really is a testament to the work of our teachers,
our kids and our school administrators. They're doing a fantastic job."
says he expects test scores to rise again next year as more technology is
introduced into the classroom.
