Dewayne Thompson, wanted in the wounding and kidnapping of 17-year-old Katelyn Beard, has been captured by Jackson Police. He was taken into custody around 5:45 in west Jackson near where Beard's vehicle was found earlier today.

A burning cross, a Smith county man beaten and shot by a family member, and in critical condition. We are told this is much more than a family feud, and outraged family members are calling it a "hate crime."
second week of the Moody Manor shooting trial began Monday with potentially
incriminating evidence for one defendant.
Jones and Keshawn Jennings are on
trial for the murder of 1-year-old Keondra Hooks, who died from a gunshot
in August of last year.
Monday, Martin Lewis, an expert with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation took
the stand. Lewis conducted tests for gunshot residue on clothing collected as
evidence in the case. He testified that while one black, zip-up hoodie and a
pair of sweat pants tested negative for residue, the other hoodie and a red Nike
T-shirt tested positive.

in court Monday, the jury viewed video taken of Jennings being questioned by
detectives. During the interrogation, detectives caught Jennings in several
lies – one of which being that he was never at Moody Manor on the night of the
shooting. He later admitted to being there.
