Restaurant Ratings: A broken cooler and leaking dishwasher top the list

Five restaurants were featured in this week's Restaurant Ratings Report, all with different violations, except one.

Starbucks is known for being clean and fresh, and the one on Reynolds Road is living up to its reputation. During the shop's visit by Lucas County Health Inspectors last month, there was not a single violation to report.

The same cannot be said for Quiznos on Airport Highway. The restaurant faced four violations and a follow-up visit. A broken cooler meant all food had to be thrown out. Inspectors will return after finding no food thermometer, and no sanitizer for cleaning.

Happy Rose Buffet, also on Airport, collected five violations. The dishwasher was given a reminder to keep hands clean when unloading clean plates and utensils, and inspectors noticed water leaking from the machine. There was also no sanitizer set up, and chicken was being thawed in standing water.

Inspectors delivered two violations to Vito's Pizza on Central Avenue. Mops sitting in a sink need to find a new home, and cases of cheese stored on the floor will have to move to higher ground.

Golden Koi Restaurant on Executive Parkway also received four violations. Employees were caught re-using tofu containers, storing food on the floor, and leaving cooked cabbage sitting out at room temperature.
