Fire crews were called to a fire at a home on the 3200 block of Lagrange, near Central, in north Toledo around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday.
The house was occupied, but everyone made it out safely. A Toledo Fire Battalion Chief tells us, however, that a 21-year-old was taken from the house to the hospital to get treated for smoke inhalation. The chief says he was upstairs, in a wheelchair, when the fire broke out, and firefighters had to go inside and get him.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but most of the damage was in the back of the home. Officials believe it may have been a kitchen fire.
The American Red Cross is responding to assist the family.
