ADRIAN, MI (Toledo News Now) -
Amateur fireworks enthusiasts in one Michigan town may have to restrict their hobby to the days around a national holiday due to an ordinance passed last year.
The city of Adrian is restricting at-home fireworks displays to the day before, the day of, and the day after a national holiday. The law was passed last summer, but some Adrian residents say they don't think everyone got the memo.
"We hear them every night. They're pretty common," said one Adrian resident.
"I don't think anyone knows about it unless they read the paper," said another.
Those lighting fireworks on days outside those allowed by the ordinance could face a $500 fire.
