LENAWEE COUNTY, MI (Toledo News Now) -
A popular vacation spot in our community is seeing some major redevelopment.
Changes are happening along Devil's Lake right now. There are two new shops and a new restaurant, but that's just the beginning.
Dave Gajda, one of the co-developers working on Devil's Lake right now, is buying and fixing up existing structures, but new ones will be built as well.
"We have two new buildings we're doing right now," he said. "One of them is a weekly guest house and the other is a salon. We're looking to bring in an ice cream shop/bakery."
Those who live in the area say they couldn't be more excited.
"I absolutely think that it will help with the property values for those who own homes or cottages, and I just think it will bring more people to the area," said Darlene Heller, owner of Lake View Living.
"It gives people pride in belonging to the area, and kind of sharing with everyone else the rich historic past," Gajda said.
