been a rainy week and more is on the way, which has Tiffin residents worried
about more possible flooding.
this week, the streets on the west end of Tiffin were covered in water after
almost a week-long soaking of sporadic rainfall. Mayor Aaron Montz says the
southeast side of Tiffin received four inches of rain in less than two hours Monday
says the storm water system in place was routing the water properly, but the
problem may have been with the nearby Westgate shopping center retention pond.
now, residents shouldn't worry about more flooding in the area, but should
still be wary of flash floods.
"The river is not going to reach flood stage,"
Montz said. "People just need to be aware, especially the low-lying county
roads on the south side of the city…they flood when the ground is very
saturated and you get these very heavy thunderstorms."
