Elementary School in Sylvania Township closed its doors at the beginning of
2013, after serving the Sylvania City Schools district for 84 years. Now the
building is up for a public auction.
students who attended Central Elementary School on Central and King roads now
attend Central Trail Elementary. The old school and the 13 acres of land it
sits on will be auctioned on July 18, from 12-4 p.m.
district is required by law to hold the auction. Those who attend will be able
to walk the grounds before placing a bid.
Dr. Brad Rieger says the district has an amount in mind they are seeking, and
if that isn't met, the bids can be declined and the building can be sold in a
