SANDUSKY COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

High winds did more than just topple trees in Sandusky County - power poles snapped like toothpicks near Fremont.

For Donna Fought and her husband as they surveyed the damage after the storm at their home on the outskirts of Fremont, it was a sight they say they have not seen in some time.

"Not like this, usually maybe you get a few limbs down in the yard, that's nothing to worry about," Fought said. "But when you see all of this and, of course, these are old trees, too, but then when you look up at this one and it took the top out and put it right there…Looks like we'll be cleaning for a while."

Just a few miles from the Fought home, on County Road 128, power poles that lined the road snapped in half from high winds, knocking out power in the area. It was just one of the many road closures in the area.
