BARBERTON, OH (WOIO) -

Some residents in Barberton are still dealing with flooding from Wednesday's storm.

The city is requesting motorists to avoid traveling on local roadways that have flood water on them.

Multiple roads are still closed including 14th Street North West, 15th Street North West, Barber Road, Morgan Road, Norten Road in front of the high school, and Wooster Road West from 14th to 10th.

Barberton is in a low-lying area and received three inches of rain during the storm, according to officials.

Many residents are experiencing flooding first-hand, 50 senior citizens were evacuated from Heritage Place Senior apartments where the first floor is flooded.

There are two shelters available for anyone in need. Those shelters are at the Salvation Army 560 Wooster Road West and 4th and the Lake Anna YMCA 500 West Hopocan Avenue.
