Firefighters had to put their safety first after a house fire got too dangerous in north Toledo.
Firefighters arrived at the scene around 3:45am Saturday morning on East Park Street where they found heavy fire in the basement.
Within 20 minutes flames
had grown so quickly that fire crews had to take a defensive stance and protect
The property owner wasn't
home at the time but eventually arrived at the scene.
Two dogs were in the yard
and taken by the dog warden. They were uninjured.
Fire investigators were
also called to the scene but there's been no determination on the cause.
The home has been demolished.
