In the early hours of Saturday, July 13, just before 2 a.m., Cleveland Police arrested a man for felonious assault, related to a stabbing in the 6200 block of Belvidere.
When police arrived, the victim told police that he had been stabbed by his neighbor.
Both the victim and witnesses informed police that the suspect gone back inside his residence after the attack.
The Cleveland Fire Department assisted the officers in disabling the front security door and kicking in the suspect's door. The suspect pretended to be asleep with his wife.
The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
The police report says that when asked what happened, the suspect responded by saying that the victim has robbed him twice and sucker punched him, so he got what he had coming. The report also says that he later said he didn't know anything about the stabbing.
Alcohol is suspected to have played a role in the stabbing.
The victim was treated for cuts to his forehead area at Cleveland Clinic.
