PERKINS TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) -
A police officer was involved in an accident in Perkins Township Sunday afternoon.
Sergeant Jeff Musser of the Perkins Police Department was driving southbound on Columbus Avenue just before 3 with his lights and sirens on when he tried to pass a car driven by 50-year-old Mark Weikle from Sandusky.
Weikle tried to pull into a driveway, and that's when Sergeant Musser's car hit Weikle's car, sending both cars off the road.
Sergeant Musser was wearing a seat belt and was quickly released from an area hospital.
Weikle was not wearing his seat belt.
He was rushed to the hospital with a possible broken leg.
