The identity of a body found in a Fremont home Wednesday has been identified, following an autopsy Thursday morning at the Lucas County Coroner's Office.
Cody Jackson's body was found by a housemate in a home on the 100 block of Morrison Street early Wednesday morning. Police Chief Tim Wiersma said at first, officers were unable to identify the gender.
circumstances are that he had dressed partially as a woman," the chief said. "He was wearing
pantyhose. The rest of his body was covered in plastic wrap. And so we knew
there would have to be an autopsy, so we did not disturb the body."
Police believe the cause of death is accidental, due to an auto-erotic activity. Wiersma said no sign of struggle or injury was found on Jackson.
The case is no longer being investigated as a homicide, but the investigation is still open.
"I'm not ruling out anything," Wiersma said. "We continue to investigate. We have leads to follow up on, the detectives have
put in a lot of time and will continue to put in a lot of time."
The Fremont Police Department is still accepting information and can be reached at 419-332-6464.
