WHITEHOUSE, OH (Toledo News Now) -
Several people were injured in a car accident Monday afternoon in Whitehouse, Ohio.
The accident happened at the intersection of Eber Road and Weckerly Road just north of Anthony Wayne High School and Junior High, just after 2:30 p.m.
The Ohio State Highway patrol says Robert Kerr, 51, of Whitehouse, was traveling westbound on Weckerly Road in a Chevrolet Aveo. Haylee Leedy, 20, of Toledo, was traveling eastbound on Weckerly Road in a Ford Taurus. Leedy was going around a curve and lost control of the vehicle, traveling left-of-center and hitting Kerr's vehicle head-on.
Both vehicles traveled off the north side of the roadway. Kerr's vehicle struck a mailbox, Leedy's struck a boulder.
OSHP says Kerr was wearing his seatbelt and was transported to the hospital by emergency helicopter with incapacitating injuries.
Passengers in Leedy's car were Alexander Cole, 20, of Toledo, in the front passenger seat, Ella Cole, age 2, in a car seat in the second row, middle seat, and Ayva and Gavin Cole, 11 weeks, both in car seats in the second row, right and left seat. Leedy and all passengers were wearing seatbelts and were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash. OSHP is still investigating the accident.
