A screen grab of the private social network for neighborhoods, Nextdoor.com.
City officials announce the launch on Wednesday morning
CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -
The City of Cincinnati has partnered with Nextdoor.com, a private social network for local neighborhoods.
Nextdoor.com is free and offers each Cincinnati neighborhood its own private 'Nextdoor' website, which is accessible only to residents living in that neighborhood.
Residents can use their website to get to know neighbors, ask questions and exchange local advice or recommendations.
The administration as well as several other city departments plan to use Nextdoor.com to share news, services, programs, free events and emergency notifications to neighborhoods signed up within the city.
In a press release sent Monday detailing the partnership, city officials say it will be "another important tool in the city's toolkit to improve safety and community outreach efforts in the city's 52 neighborhoods."
