TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -
Antwaine Jones and Keshawn Jennings were sentenced to 40 years to life in prison Tuesday for the shooting death of 1-year-old Keondra Hooks last summer.
Jones and Jennings were found guilty earlier this month after an eight-day trial and just more than eight hours of jury deliberations.
Originally, three men were accused of killing the toddler, but James Moore took a plea deal and testified against Jennings and Jones.
"This is a good day for justice," said Toledo Police Chief Derrick Diggs.
Diggs held a press conference at the Safety Building to discuss the investigation, sentencing and prosecution. Members of the investigation team, along with prosecutors, were on hand to answer questions.
