PERRYSBURG, OH (Toledo News Now) -
St. Clare Commons has been 10 years in the making and is finally nearing the end of construction. On Monday night, potential residents got a sneak peak of the facility.
With grand ceilings, luxury bedrooms, and dining rooms, phase one of St. Clare Commons is coming to an end.
In cooperation with Blessed John XXIII and sponsored by the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania, the Catholic living community, just down the road from Levis Commons, will be a three-part project.
The first phase opening between September and October is a nursing care unit. After that, assisted living will open, and then independent living to complete the entire village.
"From the beginning, we knew as the adjacent parish, we'd be doing ministerial outreach to this as an extension of our own parish," said Father Herb Weber. "It's a beautiful facility. It's really going to be an asset to the entire community. What we learned in our early planning, is that there are many families who are looking for a Catholic facility like this that can be so close to a parish. They really find that this is a win-win for everybody."
