FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Two Florence residents are making themselves at home behind bars after a recent visit to a prisoner in the Florence County Detention Center.
Leslie Crowley, Sr. , 60, and 61-year-old Peggy Crowley are accused of providing controlled substances to their son, 39-year-old Leslie Frank Crowley Jr., when visiting him in prison on July 23.
Both are charged with possession of controlled substances, conspiracy to distribute controlled substances and furnishing contraband to a prisoner
Leslie Frank Crowley, Jr., already serving time on state and federal charges, has been charged by with possession of contraband by a prisoner.
A Florence County Magistrate set bond for the parents at $3,000 each.
Under South Carolina law, furnishing contraband to a prisoner is a felony punishable
by a fine of not less than $1,000 nor more than $10,000 or imprisonment of
not less than one year nor more than ten years, or both, says the Florence County Sheriff's Office.
