unexpected increase in state funding means one less ballot issue for Sylvania
voters this November.
Schools Superintendent Dr. Brad Rieger has been preparing district officials
and parents for a potential operating levy request this fall. Early state
funding numbers showed no increase in funding, and the district was predicting
a $3 million deficit at the end of fiscal year 2015.
the state is increasing Sylvania's funding by 6 percent this year and 10
percent next year, and the district is predicting a $600,000 budget surplus at
the end of 2015, instead.
