The Ohio State Highway Patrol says they are investigating a serious injury crash that happened Thursday on State Route 15 and Mansfield Road in Highland Township.
They say 28-year-old Kari Reiman was driving westbound around 3:20 p.m. on Mansfield Road when she failed to yield at a stop sign. Reiman was struck by 19-year-old Ashley Bemis who was heading southbound with 41-year-old Tracy Palmer, 13-year-old Madison Palmer and her infant son. All five individuals were transports to the hospital by Life Flight.
Investigators say Madison was not properly restrained, and had put the shoulder strap of the seat belt behind her only using the lap belt portion. She sustained injuries to her face and head.
Reiman sustained the most serious injuries while the others were treated for minor injuries.
