LORAIN, OH (WOIO) -
A 35-year-old grandmother has been charged after cops found her 1-year-old grandson crawling toward the street.
It happened on Wednesday morning on W. 21st Street in Lorain.
According to the police report, officers have been called to the home of Marsheen Price 33 times this year for various child-related issues. Police say Price is notorious for having and allowing children outside without clothing. Children, from infants to age 15, have been seen running in the street and hanging out of windows.
When officers arrived at Price's home on Wednesday, they found the baby boy, wearing nothing but a dirty diaper, crawling toward the busy street. In addition to the soiled diaper, the baby was filthy and had a large lump sticking out of his stomach.
It also appears the baby may have been eating dirt.
Price told police she has seven children inside her home, some are hers and others are her grandchildren. She said she has been working with Children's Services.
Price was arrested and charged with child endangering.
Neighbors say they hope the kids finally get some help.
"They'll be running around naked down the street. Everybody in the neighborhood will be like, 'come get your kids. They are naked,' then the mom will yell, 'get in the house! and spank them," says Lametria Phillips, who is a neighbor.
The baby was taken to the hospital for treatment. No word on his condition.
Price posted bond and is no longer in police custody. She is scheduled to be in court August 15, at 1:30 p.m.
