Dewayne Thompson, wanted in the wounding and kidnapping of 17-year-old Katelyn Beard, has been captured by Jackson Police. He was taken into custody around 5:45 in west Jackson near where Beard's vehicle was found earlier today.

A burning cross, a Smith county man beaten and shot by a family member, and in critical condition. We are told this is much more than a family feud, and outraged family members are calling it a "hate crime."
After two months of construction, the pickleball courts in Holland are now open.
Holland Mayor Mike Yunker hopes the sport will catch on in other communities and promote a healthy lifestyle for residents. He believes the $30,000 invested into the courts is worth the entertainment and health of the community.
"Pickleball is a great sport that they can come out and be active with, especially with our seniors," Yunker said. "If you're a healthy person and an active person, you're going to live a longer life span."
On Friday, a group of 20 filled the courts. Yunker said the interest in the racquet ball sport is growing.
"It looked really fun, it looked like great exercise," said Jim Steedman, who says he and his wife are interested in playing.
The Toledo Pickleball Club will be demonstrating and instructing people how to play at Strawberry Acres Park Saturday at 10 a.m.
