Hello Toledo! I'm very excited to begin my second TV job in journalism!
I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I grew up watching the news with my mother just about every night, and with her encouragement, I decided I wanted to work in a newsroom!
My life in journalism started when I began attending Columbia College in Chicago majoring in Broadcast Journalism. I was able to absorb many aspects of the news industry during my years in school. With strong encouragement from my professors, I took a chance applying for internships and it paid off. During my last semester in school, I interned at ABC 7 News in Chicago as part of the News Planning Department. I was responsible for preparing the newsroom for Illinois Primary coverage. I coordinated presidential, county, and congressional candidates as a liaison for the station.
Four short months after graduation, I packed my bags and moved to Lima, Ohio to start my career. I worked for WLIO as a multi-media journalist, and was able to work on a multitude of stories including breaking news, courtroom proceedings, and compelling feature stories. Watching my peers and learning from their success in stressful times taught me how to work under pressure.
