ADRIAN, MI (Toledo News Now) -

Re-zoning was just approved on North Main Street in Adrian so a new medical facility can be built.

The architect on the project says the plan is to demolish the building at 715 North Main and build a brand new urgent care center. It's designed to be just over 4,000 square feet and will be the only urgent care facility in the area.

Residents in the area say they're happy about the project because they think the center would be used by many people, and the new building will upgrade the look of the area.

"I think it's excellent, wonderful, much needed," said Rosemary Price. "You don't have to go to the ER and wait for hours. It's half the cost. I think it's wonderful."

Demolition of the current building is expected to happen soon so construction can begin in September.
