group of union-backed protestors reappeared in Findlay Wednesday, this time, in
front of the construction site at the high school.
part of a labor dispute that's been going on for awhile. Protestors stood
silently in front of the high school for hours holding a banner calling ‘shame
on the school.' The protestors refused to speak, but handed out fliers
explaining their cause.
target appears to be Five Angle Construction, a company hired for roof work at
flier read, in part:
Angle Construction does not pay its employees Findlay's area standard wages,
fringe benefits and economic conditions…Five Angle Construction and/or Findlay
City Schools is acting out of greed."
protestors are hired by the Indiana-Kentucky-Ohio Council of Carpenters, and take
their sign everywhere. Last year, they protested at the University of Findlay.
Schroeder from Five Angle Construction says none of the protestors work for his
company. He said his is one of several companies getting backlash from the
labor union for not hiring unionized workers.
