TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

An autopsy performed on a body found in an abandoned Toledo home Wednesday has failed to provide authorities with answers.

The coroner performed the autopsy Thursday, but says they are not even close to being able to identify the person yet.

Two workers discovered the body while they were prepping a home on the 400 block of Streicher for demolition Wednesday. They told police they saw a blanket at the end of a stair well. When they tried to move it, they saw legs underneath.

Police say the body had begun to decompose and appeared to have been in the home for more than a week.

The coroner's office is still working to find out who the person is as police continue to gather clues.

Anyone with information that may help the investigation is asked to call Crimestopper at 419-255-1111.
