TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -
Toledo Police say a man sought in the rape of a 12-year-old victim has been taken into custody.
Police say the U.S. Marshal Service arrested Joel Coleman at an apartment on Woodruff Avenue in central Toledo around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Coleman was indicted by a Lucas County Grand Jury in July on two counts of rape and two counts of gross sexual imposition. Coleman, 31, is accused of giving the child candy and dollar bills in return for sex. Toledo Police say the crimes began six years ago when the child was six years old and continued until last year.
Coleman is being held in the Lucas County Jail without bond, and will appear before common pleas court judge Stacy Cook early next week.
Last week police asked for the public's help finding Coleman. The post on TPD's Facebook page got more than 3,000 shares.
