ADRIAN, MI (Toledo News Now) -
Hundreds of jobs could soon be coming to the Adrian area, along with a brand new manufacturing facility.
The city is being considered as a location for a company, which is currently not being named. The land at the intersection of Beecher and Sand Creek is one of four sites in the country being considered.
The $270 million investment would mean 600-800 jobs and a $25 million-per-year payroll in the area.
"It would be a blessing," said Michael Murrin, a pastor assistant at Jesus is Lord Ministries. "Not just for this area, but for the state of Michigan."
It could still be a few months before the decision is made, but Murrin says he's seen a lot of unemployed people in the area, and having extra jobs in town could have a huge impact on the community.
"The unemployment rate here is pretty bad," he said. "We need to bring the prosperity back."
