TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -
People in a west Toledo neighborhood say one neighbor is
a real ‘night-time nuisance.'
While the manager of Jesse James West, or the W bar on
Laskey Road, says he's unaware of any complaints, people living along Amesbury
Road say that bar and its customers are keeping them up at night, and they want
it to stop.
Erika Swincicki says she and her fiancé are fed up with
the noise at night, especially when their day starts when the partying is often
still going on.
"Very, very loud music until like 3 o'clock in the
morning," Swincicki said. "Sometimes the parking lot is very noisy with people
out in their cars with their systems going, and fights."
Christina Sobecki says she moved into that neighborhood
for peace and quiet, something she now says is the exception, rather than the
"[It was a] very quiet neighborhood. Never had any
issues, never woke up in the middle of the night," she said. "Now, all of a
sudden, loud music, constantly, all night long, people screaming and yelling."
Toledo Police say so far this year, officers have made 12
crime reports from activity at that bar, including reports of disorderly
conduct, assault and resisting arrest.
Swincicki says she didn't have any problems with other
bars operating from that same location in the past.
"This just started happening within the last year with
the new operation," she said. "Something needs to be done because there's
school coming up and kids have to be up early for school. We can't have that
