41-year-old woman shot in head on Cleveland's east side
CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -
A woman was fatally shot on Cleveland's east side early Saturday morning.
Cops were called to the VIP Lounge at East 93rd and Mt. Auburn around 2 a.m. for a woman shot. While en route, officers received a call for a woman shot at East 116th and Forrest Avenue.
Police arrived on Forrest Avenue to find the victim with a gunshot wound to the head. EMS was notified and responded to the scene. The victim was found unresponsive and pronounced dead on the scene.
The victim has been identified as Crystal Pinkins of East Cleveland, 41.
The preliminary investigation reveals that Pinkins was sitting in the front seat of a vehicle with two other females at E. 93rd and Mt. Auburn. While sitting in the vehicle, she was involved in a verbal argument with two men. During the argument, one of the males went to a vehicle, returned with a handgun and shot Pinkins. The driver of the vehicle drove away and called police. The vehicle and Pinkins were located at E. 116th and Forrest Avenue.
The suspects were arrested a short time later in the area of W. 5th and Marquardt Avenue. They are being held in the Division's Central Prison Unit awaiting charges.
