JERUSALEM TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) -
a 3-month appeal, Harold Stanton has been reinstated as Jerusalem Township Fire
was fired in March. Trustees voted to terminate Stanton, saying they warned him
several times to not allow former firefighter Jim Gray to participate in any
emergency calls. The trustees claim Stanton continued to do so, but Stanton
argues that he told Gray not to participate, but says Gray didn't follow
Monday, a Lucas County judge reinstated Stanton as fire chief. According the
court documents, the judge decided the board's decision was illegal, because it
failed to comply with the township's personnel policies and procedures manual,
as well as unconstitutional, because trustees served in multiple roles in
making the decision.
